LAZY SUNDAY // 5 OF MY NETFLIX FAVORITES
Hey guys! Hope you’re enjoying a great and relaxing Sunday. Ant that is precisely what Sundays are all about, perfect to chill and relax with the family or friends. And what a better way to spend a good time than watching a good movie or TV show? I really enjoy it, that’s kind of my perfect Sunday. But even on Monday, Tuesday…. whenever you want to enjoy a good time Netflix has great options for everybody to choose from.
As a working mom, having to balance all of my activities along with my kids’, means that my brain is always packed full of different things to focus on. It doesn’t take long to realize how much running on a busy schedule and few hours of sleep can really exhaust you. That’s why even the slightest bit of free time is precious. Throughout my years of blogging, I have taken you through my life and how I do it in style. But I want to let you in on what happens when I turn off my laptop and my brain begins to cool down. It really depends on the day, but for me, free time means me time. Whether it’s some time to pamper myself, or even going for a walk, I like to make sure that I do something I enjoy. Then, there are the days where I like to just get into some comfy clothes, grab a few snacks, and watch some Netflix. This led me to think, why not share with you 5 of my favorite Netflix movies and shows, so that next time you find yourself struggling on what to watch, you know I got you covered;)
*keep in mind these are in no specific order and these are some of the ones I have watched and really enjoyed.
- Brain On Fire
This is personally one of my all-time favorites. The best part is that it’s based on a true story which, wow, I found so fascinating. I also heard there is a book based on this movie, which I am totally dying to read. The main actress in this movie, Chloë Grace Moretz, really brings her character to life and I was just honestly speechless with her performance in this movie. It’s definitely a must watch!
2. 13 Reasons Why
This is one of my favorite shows. The concept is really heartbreaking to get the tissues ready to wipe away some tears. Throughout this series you fall in love with the characters and each role is played so well that it feels real. One thing I do have to say, the subject matters can get a little disturbing, just as the own actors mention, so just be ready for that. But if you are looking for a good show to binge watch try this one!
3. The Gift
I actually watched this movie with two of my kids (my oldest kids which are 14 and 17) and we all really enjoyed it. It isn’t a horror movie but what I can tell you is that it’s one of those really thrilling and suspenseful movies that just keep you on the edge of your seat because it’s super unpredictable. You never know what is capable of happening next. Not going to spoil it or anything but the ending had me completely shook!
4. The End of The F***ing World
I remember one night I was just kind of searching around Netflix, not really knowing what to watch. I came across this show which I had heard a lot of mixed reviews on so I decided to watch it. I found it to be super interesting yet quite entertaining. It revolves around the quirky romance between a psychopath and a sulky teenager, I know, strange. It’s quite heartwarming and even though the characters both seem unlikeable, you quickly fall in love with them. I definitely want to know what happens next, so I’m hoping they come back with a second season.
5. Before I Wake
Last but not least, I want to share with you this movie I recently watched. My daughter and I are super into scary movies even though we get creeped out pretty easily. We had both wanted to watch this one for a while but never got around to it until a couple of nights ago. I think we both really enjoyed it because of the heart pumping fear you get that makes a horror movie good. There are a few jump-scares so be ready for that. Jacob Tremblay, who plays the main character is so amazing! If you’re in the mood for a good movie that will really get you sweating try this one!
So those are some of my favorite Netflix movies and shows that I want to share with you. I hope this will help you for the next time you don’t know what to watch, you can always refer back to this post to get some ideas. I’m always on the hunt for good shows or movies to watch, so if you have any good recommendations I should check out, feel free to comment them down below. Keep in mind there are so many popular shows and movies I haven’t gotten the chance to watch just yet but when I do this list could probably change. I’d also be super curious to know what you think of these and if you enjoyed them as much as I did.
Have a fun and Netflix-filled rest of your weekend!
