Why Is Sunscreen An Indispensable Beauty Ally?

We are still enjoying what’s left summer and the high temperatures. When the sun is shining and even if it’s cloudy, the skin should be protected without any exceptions, especially if you are enjoying any kind of activity that implies being exposed.

Girl, if you want to avoid fine lines, wrinkles, premature aging, or even worse develop a critical skin condition, let me tell you that sunscreen needs to be part of your daily routine. That means you should protect your skin, and your family’s every single day by wearing daily sunscreen, at least in your face. Remember that sun damage is accumulative and progressive. Imagine you’re laying under the sun in your 20’s to get a cool tan, you do this every opportunity you have. The results: a cool tan for the moment but a wrinkled complexion in the future. You will see the damage reflected on your skin years later.

I highly recommend you start using an SPF 30+ daily, same way you use your moisturizer. It’s never too late to start taking care of your skin. So from now on, incorporate it into your beauty regimen. I have done this since I was in my 20’s so I can proudly brag about the fact that my skin looks healthy and taken care of, despite my age. The best sunscreen for the face will be the one that works with your specific skin necessities. For example, if you have oily skin, go for a sunscreen for oily skin and if you have very sensitive skin or if you are dealing with acne, non comedogenic sunscreen would be a good option. It’s designed to not clog your pores and it’s perfect to avoid any irritation, pimples, or blemishes. I am sharing some good brands that I have tried and I really like down below.

My favorites with a light tint that hides imperfections without being too heavy are: EltaMD , Tizo, Coola (my favorite)

If looking for a mineral sunscreen with a matte finish, non-whitening, check La Roche-Posay , Tizo, Coola (my favorite)

This is what I do everyday even on cloudy or rainy days, because the UV rays penetrate through the clouds: after washing my face, I apply my toner, eye cream, serum, moisturizer, followed by the sunscreen. If I need to wear make up, I proceed with its application, if not, sunscreen is my last step.

I always keep a visor in my car and wear it because when you are simply driving, running errands, picking up your kids, etcetera, your skin is always exposed. And if possible I wear gloves with an SPF protection. Your hands will be grateful because as you get older they can show dark spots and wrinkles.

For any outdoor activities, I strengthen the protection by retouching my sunscreen every hour and avoid being directly exposed to the sunlight.

Take care of your skin, pamper it and wear daly sunscreen, that’s the best habit you can adopt in order to achieve a flawless complexion, and avoid premature wrinkles and dark spots.

Have a great week!

XOXO,
