The Easiest Way To Connect With Your Audience As A Beauty Blogger In This Era
Having a beauty blog can be fascinating and extremely appealing. Just thinking of the idea of having a successful blog and getting to review products for beauty brands sounds cool. Too good to be true, right?! Well, the reality behind this is that it has so many perks, that’s why I want to share a little bit about what I have learned through the years in this business.
I can literally give a bunch of tips that I wish someone had told me when I started my blogging career 5 years ago, but let’s leave those for another blog post. For now, I want to focus on the importance of creating a connection with your audience, and the easiest ways to achieve it.
In this era, the internet is a protagonist in our lives. We spend more time than ever at home and the amount of time we spend
The first and number one advice I can give to anyone who has the ambition to start a career in the blogosphere and build a loyal
I’m not saying that it’s wrong to identify with another beauty influencer, get inspiration from them, or talk about the same topics. That is totally acceptable, but you have to do it in your own style and give every single piece of content a touch of your personality. That is what will make your blog post or any content you produce unique because, hey! there’s only one YOU.
This is why all the beauty, makeup, and skincare enthusiast and influencers are here for. We want to share our voice, to love, and be passionate about inspiring women. There’s nothing that makes me feel more satisfied than when any of my followers thank me for certain advice or treatment that I have shared. That’s the most rewarding feeling and it’s worth every single ounce of effort and work dedicated to my blog and social media. Even if I can inspire one person with my content, that’s a win and that leads me to the next tip, creating that bond with your audience.
Why Follower Count Isn’t The Most Important Factor.
Nowadays, the number of followers seems to be prioritized. The success of a beauty influencer seems to be measured according to the size of her following base. And this is wrong because that number is just vanity metrics and it is well known that it’s not complicated to get thousands of followers and increase that number at the click of a button and at an affordable price just to make your social media look important. You can have even a million bots that follow your account. But in the long run, this will only hurt your brand and your image because you won’t get engagement, sales, or people to read your blog. So even if you have 100 loyal followers consuming your content or one person who truly feels inspired and connected with you, that will make a difference and gradually the growth will flow. Put your effort into your content instead of worrying about the number of followers.
Don’t Put All The Eggs In One Basket.
Diversification is super important in this business. A couple of months ago I was asked if beauty blogs are still profitable, and my answer is YES! Owning your beauty blog means that it is your property, with no algorithms involved. If for some reason the social media platform, where you have put all of your efforts, disappears, you can lose your content and years of hard work. One example could be Vine, this platform had thousands of users, it went away and some of its big creators migrated to Youtube in order to continue their career. So no matter what happens in the other platforms you are active on, your blog will always be your property and it’s a great way to share your beauty tips, experiences, and overall voice with your followers. If they take the time to visit and read, that means you have inspired
But wait, that doesn’t mean that you should refrain
In less than 2 years, some brands are selling more than ever thanks to TikTok videos and more people are on the platform following and consuming their influencer’s daily relatable content. This is one of the successes behind those emerging TikTok stars, they show who they are and communicate with their audience as if they were friends.
To wrap this up, I suggest that if you really want to start a beauty blog just for the simple fact of getting beauty products for free or being paid to review them, girl, don’t waste your time! Because it will be easier to create a connection and build a loyal audience if you speak from the
