One of the best things of this season, when the temperatures start to dip, is that you can wear boots! They are the greatest element for the transition from Summer to Fall, and Winter of course. I really love them! They complement any outfit by adding a touch of chicness and visual interest. But, how to find the best boot style for my legs and body type? It’s important to know that some styles flatter certain body types better than others… Just check this out and click on your favorite to get all details:
▪️ankle boots: this style is number one in terms of versatility. They are very easy to pair. Ankle boots work great if you have short legs, because they create the optical illusion of longer legs. If you are petite or have muscular legs it is better to choose a style with a heel.
▪️ mid-calf boots: this style is super sexy and gives volume to the calves. If you have thin legs this is a good choice for you. To look leaner and taller of course the ones with heels will help and they always look more feminine. For plus-sized girls I personally don’t recommend this style, because they cut your leg in half, better to choose knee-length boots.
▪️knee-boots: as the name implies, they hit just at the knee, and they work great to create a slimmer look, your legs will look longer than their actual size. As I said in the upper paragraph, they work great for plus-sized women
▪️over-the-knee boots: these are great for fall and winter. This style is becoming so popular. A trend that looks awesome! If you have slim legs, wear them to create the illusion of curves. The high boots are not for petites or short girls. It’s best to choose a different style, because if your purpose is to look taller and slimmer, you’ll look totally the opposite wearing them.
For petites, a very good style is one that elongates your legs with a high heel or platform to give you extra height.
If you’re gonna wear them with pants try to wear the same color boots, to avoid cutting your legs and making you look shorter. Monochromatic on the bottom is always a good option. Also, pointy-toed boots will make your legs look longer.
Of course if you are tall and thin, any type of flat boots will look good on you, they are super comfy as well.
There are many different styles and colors, try to find the one that creates the right balance for your body type.

Lo mejor de esta época, cuando las temperaturas comienzan a descender, es que podemos usar botas. Son el ingrediente perfecto para la transición de verano a otoño e invierno, desde luego. De verdad me encantan, complementan cualquier look añadiéndole interés visual y un toque muy chic.
Pero, ¿Cómo elegir el mejor estilo de botas para mis piernas y mi anatomía?. Es muy importante tener en cuenta que no todos los estilos favorecen y van bien a ciertos tipos de cuerpo. A continuación te lo explico:
▪️botines al tobillo (ankle boots): este estilo es el número uno en cuanto a versatilidad se refiere. Son muy fáciles de combinar. Las botas o botines al tobillo funcionan muy bien si tus piernas son cortas, porque crean la ilusión óptica de alargamiento, por lo que tus piernas lucirán mas largas. Si eres petite o de pierna musculosa, es mejor optar por las que tengan un poco de tacón.
▪️botas a la pantorrilla (mid-calf boots): es un estilo super sexy que da volumen a las pantorrillas. Si tus piernas son delgadas es una muy buena opción para ti. Por supuesto que las que tienen tacón te ayudarán a lucir más alta y estilizada, además de ser muy femeninas. Para chicas de talla grande ( plus-sized), no recomiendo este estilo en particular, porque cortan tus piernas por la mitad, mejor optar por botas a la rodilla.
▪️botas a la rodilla: como su nombre lo indica, estas quedan justo en la rodilla, y funcionan muy bien para crear una figura más estilizada. Tus piernas lucirán mas largas. Como mencioné en el párrafo anterior, son ideales para mujeres de talla grande.
▪️botas por arriba de la rodilla: perfectas para otoño-invierno. Es un estilo que ha alcanzado una enorme popularidad. ¡Una tendencia que luce increíble! Si tus piernas son muy delgadas, llévalas para crear la ilusión de curvas. Las botas altas no son buena opción para petites o mujeres de poca altura. Es mejor elegir otro estilo, ya que si lo que deseas es lucir con mayor altura, obtendrás totalmente lo contrario con este estilo.
Para petites, el estilo ideal es aquel que proyecte un alargamiento visual, con un tacón alto o plataforma se logra obtener altura extra.
Si vas a llevarlas con pantalones, trata que el color de bota sea del mismo color que el pantalón , para evitar hacer un corte en tus piernas y que luzcan cortas. Monocromático en la parte inferior siempre es una buena idea. También botas en punta ayudan a alargar las piernas.
Claro que si eres alta y delgada cualquier tipo de botas planas (sin tacón-flats) lucirán bien en ti, además de ser muy cómodas.
Existe gran variedad de estilos y colores, trata de elegir aquel que ayude a crear el balance adecuado para tu anatomía.
